چکیده
Lead contamination is among the most significant threats to environment. The phytoextraction approach uses plants that can tolerate and accumulate metals in their tissues. Lately, biofuel have been recommended be suitable for remediation implementation of potentially toxic elements (PTEs)-polluted soil. This research assessed Pb phytoremediation potential three Sorghum bicolor [red cultivar (S1), white (S2) shahla (S3)]. A pot experiment with five treatments (0, 100, 200, 400 800 mg Pb/kg soil) was carried out assess possibility using these cultivars remediate soil Pb. phytoremediate also assessed. results emphasized all examined could attain growth maturity high spiked However, influenced morphological chlorophyll contents, especially grown amended mg/kg. S1 had reduction total an average 72%, followed by S2 S3 (65% 58% reduction, respectively). highest content root (110.0, 177.6 198.9 mg/kg, respectively) in-plant shoot (83.9, 103.6 99.0 were detected sorghum (S1, S3, enriched mg/kg From calculated indices, factor (CF), translocation (TF), plant uptake (UT) tolerance index (TI), none investigated considered hyperaccumulators, but identified as particularly ideal phytostabilization.

The phytoremediation potential of bioenergy crop Ricinus communis for DDTs and cadmium co-contaminated soil.
Cadmium (Cd) and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) or its metabolite residues are frequently detected in agricultural soils and food, posing a threat to human health. The objective of this study was to compare the ability of 23 genotypes of Ricinus communis in mobilizing and uptake of Cd and DDTs (p,p'-DDT, o,p'-DDT, p,p'-DDD and p,p'-DDE) in the co-contaminated soil. The plant genotypes va...

investigations around some oil and gas refineries showed that phenanthrene is the predominant form of pahs in these areas. so, in this study, the role of sorghum vulgare pers. sudanense (a warm season grass type) in removal of phenanthrene from soils (phytoremediation) in a 16 week period greenhouse study is investigated. the stress of phenanthrene presence on plant's physiological activit...
متن کاملBioenergy potential from crop residue biomass in India
Biomass based energy generation is one of the major focus areas of renewable energy programs in India. The strength of India’s biomass resources mostly lies in the agricultural sector. A large quantity of crop residue biomass is generated in India. However, crop residue biomasses are distributed resources with variation in spatio-temporal availability and its characteristics. Competing uses of ...
